Though without provenance, conceivably the copy owned by John Neilson, on whom from wikipedia: "Born in Dornal, Scotland, Neilson arrived in Quebec City, Lower Canada in 1791 to work for his uncle's printing company, which he inherited in 1793. Elected to the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada in a partial election in 1818, he was re-elected until 1830 and supported the Parti canadien. In 1823, he accompanied Louis-Joseph Papineau to London to lobby against the Union project in the name of the majority of the MPs in the Legislative Assembly of Lower Canada. Again, in 1828 he was part of a delegation sent to London (UK) to present his party's demands for reform. In 1830, he took his distance from the Parti patriote, which he considered to be too radical. He opposed the Ninety-Two Resolutions of 1834, a rewrite of the 1828 demands for reform with a radical tone. In 1837, he was named to the Executive Council and Legislative Council; Nielson was a member of the Special Council that administered Lower Canada after the Lower Canada Rebellion. He opposed the Union after its enactment. In 1841, he was elected to the 1st Parliament of the Province of Canada in the riding of Quebec County. He was elected speaker, but in 1844 was appointed to the Legislative Council. He died at Cap-Rouge in 1848."

17 Byron DeWolfe TILLY'S THE MAN! 1872 Canadian Political Election Broadside Samuel Leonard Tilley St. John New Brunswick
St. John, NB 1872 Broadside leaf Good 4to
Scarce broadside of Byron DeWolfe, St. John New Brunswick, August 8th, 1872: Election day for a member to represent the City of St. John in the next Dominion Parliament. TILLY'S THE MAN! 15 stanzas of eight lines supporting the Hon. S. L. Tilley. A splendid glimpse into rally rhetoric on behalf of one of the Fathers of Confederation. Apparently printed just after the election results were released. Midway we read: " One Jeremiah Travis / Last Saturday I heard, / With Patriotic Ardor / How his great soul was stirred! / Then he was nominated / With candidates to be; / And voters were astonished / On hearing there were three! / But that was all deception! / A scheme! a trick !! A sham!!! / The author of such humbug / Can be no "snow-white lamb!!!" / And now I'm of opinion / With you my good friends each, / That he got nominated / To make DeVeber's speech!" Sheet measures 29 x 17.5 cm [11.5 x 6.8 inches]. Chipping to edges, with evidence of original folding creases: one vertical and three horizontal. Unprofessionally backed some time ago with brown paper that has served to stabilize the otherwise fragile document. Broadside [blank on verso] peeling from backing in places along the fore-edge.
