xiv, 329 pages plus plates. Brown cloth with gilt cameo on front and gilt titles to spine. Light foxing to the four full-page engraved brain plates and facing pages only. Former owner's neat signature to top of half-title; else remarkably clean and unmarked. Diamond shaped binder's ticket of Westleys of London to rear pastedown. Cloth split along front gutter for 2.5 inches at head and foot. Hinges secure and binding sound. Each of the five monographs has a separate title page with publisher / date/ etc. though the pagination is consecutive. In some cases the actual title of the monograph differs from that given in the collective title page at front, eg: "Application of Statistics to Medical Enquiries" is in fact "On the Importance and Value of Arithmetic Means...". This is Volume XI of the New Sydenham Society.
