Nothing but the most servile flattery and undignified entreaties can melt the Maritime Province heart. Of course, silver must not be forgotten; but it is hopeless even then to expect to accomplish your purpose, if it bears the stamp of the $, and not Victoria's profile. This restaurant cerberus finally yielded to our entreaties...".
